Preparation for the EEG test

Electroencephalography is a method of testing the electrical activity of the brain by using leads from the surface of the skull. Research should be performed according to international standards of the Society for Clinical Neurophysiology.
Correctly performed EEG tests allow for proper interpretation of the record.

EEG referrals should provide a referral containing clinical data, which will allow to select the appropriate technique and activate the study and will help you in your assessment.

Patients who apply for an EEG should be prepared according to the following recommendations:

• Should be healthy
• Be after a meal
• Without sleeping medicine (these drugs modify the record)
• Do not conduct anxiety tests before EEG testing
The minimum duration of routine testing in adults and older children in vigil should be 20 minutes, in the newborn 60 minutes.
